About the session

Pollution and poor air quality, particularly in urban areas, is an increasing concern for local authorities, health and public services, and the public alike.

This presentation forms part of a half-day event held at The Curzon Building, Birmingham City University on 21 October.  The event brought together engineers, academics, local authority, housing association, university and NHS estate managers, facilities managers and property owners for a series of presentations around the theme of air quality by leading academics and built environment experts.

Participants on the day also contributed to a workshop session and conveyed their thoughts via Twitter using the hashtag #BreatheEasyGB.

The event was the culmination of a partnership with purpose involving:

The Adaptation and Resilience in the Context of Change network (ARCC) which is staffed and managed by UKCIP, and hosted by the Environmental Change Institute, University of Oxford. For further details visit http://www.arcc-network.org.uk/

The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) through its Resilient Cities Group. For further details visit http://www.cibse.org/Networks/Groups/Resilient-Cities
