Abstract
Low carbon and circular economy innovation for the Built Environment was the subject of the Breakthrough Cities Workshop that took place at IET London: Savoy Place on 9th March 2018.
The purpose of the one-day event was to develop new business and engagement models to solve complex and urgent urban challenges, as well as share research and examples of innovation. It brought together SMEs and local government decision-makers from across London, and was the final workshop in a series run by Volans, a UK-based think tank and agency for transformational change, in partnership with the IET, Innovate UK and KTN (Knowledge Transfer Network). Learnings from all three workshops will be distilled into a short report to be published in spring 2018.
The event was aimed at innovators across all sectors with ideas that can help accelerate the low carbon transformation of London’s built environment; local authorities and service providers across the city; along with academics and researchers with relevant expertise.
