Abstract

Day 1: 12:15 - 12:35 Behind the hype – bringing the Internet of Things to life

The Internet of Things is a much used term. What it actually refers to is the next industrial revolution. It represents a convergence of technology forces that are dramatically changing the industrial ecosystem and as a result how organisations provide products and services. This will also revolutionise how we as individuals communicate with technology in the workplace, at home and in our private lives. We will draw on examples of where the Internet of Things is already coming to life and will explore how organisations can prepare themselves to maximise the opportunities.

Years after his early experiments in wireless he remains excited by the future of the industry.
