    Phil joined Newcastle University in April 2013 and is currently Director and Principal Investigator for the EPSRC funded £20M National Centre for Energy Systems Integration. Phil is also a non-executive Director of Northern Powergrid.Phil previously worked for Durham University as the Co-Director and founder of the Durham Energy Institute following his roles in Industry.In recent years Phil has provided consultancy and advise to many organisations including: Enercon, Singapore Energy Markets Authority, Malaysian Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation, DECC, Norwegian, Swedish and Dutch governments regarding power systems, energy storage and renewable energy.
