About the session
It’s 8 years on from the launch of Construction Excellence’s state of the industry report titled Never Waste a Good Crisis. Much has changed and it’s fair to say the industry looks very different from the way it did back in 2009 struggling amid recession. The report outlined a number of “ideas for radical change”. Client business and procurement models should drive change; including greater efficiency through the delivery phase and better long term value across the entire life cycle of our building and infrastructure programme.
So how far have we come and what does the future look like. How will innovation and technology play a role in facilitating the changes needed to keep driving our industry forward and what are the challenges we should be striving to meet. Andrew will draw on his experiences with Crossrail, perhaps the most ground-breaking construction project and offer insights and learning that can be shared with the wider industry.
In this session we will explore the future of the built environment and the role that innovation and technology can play in answering many of the challenges we are facing as an industry.
