ISO 26262 is a standard dealing with the functional safety of road vehicles. This keynote speech covers: getting to grips with ISO 26262 functional safety assessment and assessing the differences with other hazardous industries; looking at lessons identified from other industry sectors following accidents that have been addressed within the ISO 26262 standard, with respect to the safety case; and considering system safety versus functional safety for road vehicles.
