    Stephen Norton received his Masters in Electronic Engineering with Honours from the University of Sheffield. He is a Chartered Engineer and a PMI-certified Project Management Professional (PMP®). He was "Change Control and Configuration Manager" for the engine control systems of the TP400 turboprop. He was Assistant Head of Department for Hardware Qualification at an Aerospace Electronics OEM, where he was responsible for the Qualification of Primary Flight Controls. He has been a consultant to the Swiss Government on the Safety Concept for a new radar system. Since 2007, he is a member of the cross-industry panel "The Embedded Safety Group". Stephen has worked for one of the largest German Automotive-OEMs. He was responsible for the robust design and qualification of all electronic components for the “chassis” systems, including electric steering, electric braking and ESP. From 2011 until 2013 Stephen was Product Manager Automotive & Aerospace in the Global Competence Center for Functional Safety at SGS-TÜV Saar in Munich. He was responsible for Consulting and Assessment activities worldwide. Stephen is in demand internationally both as a public speaker and as a trainer for Functional Safety. In January 2014 he joined the Center of Competence Safety (IZ70) at IABG as Head of Safety Academy.
