This presentation describes a new multi-criteria stabilization algorithm for transformer differential protection. The proposed scheme is based on new criteria signals and appropriate operation thresholds. The new algorithm employs a fuzzy reasoning technique for better discrimination of inrush conditions. The developed stabilization algorithm has been tested with ATP/EMTP (Alternative Transients Program/ElectroMagnetic Transients Program) generated signals, proving to be reliable and much more sensitive than standard stabilization algorithms with crisp settings.
