About the session

In an increasingly crowded market with squeezed margins and limited customer engagement, the traditional model for energy supply is fast becoming outdated.

Energy companies are now actively taking this fact on board and in the past year we have seen the beginnings of a land grab in the home services market, as suppliers seek to disrupt their old competitive paradigm with new, diversified business models which can offer broader customer value.

What are the strategies of these first movers? What will it take for energy suppliers to succeed in the home services market and what opportunities are there for other utility players to take a platform approach to service innovation?
