Abstract

Dr. Arseniy Kuznetsov, Head of the Advanced Concept and Nanotechnology Division at the Data Storage Institute (DSI), has been honoured as the 6th recipient of the IET A F Harvey Engineering Research Prize, awarded for his outstanding contributions to lasers and optoelectronics, and his pioneering research in nanophotonics.

An internationally recognised expert in photonics, Dr. Kuznetsov has played a transformative role in shaping a new branch of optical science: dielectric nanoantennas. His work is helping to redefine how light is manipulated at the nanoscale, leading to innovative applications in imaging, sensing, data communication, and quantum technologies.

    Dr Arseniy Kuznetsov graduated from Nizhniy Novgorod State University (Russia) in 2002. He received his PhD in Processes Engineering from University Paris 13 (France) in 2005 and in Laser Physics from Institute of Applied Physics RAS (Russia) in 2006.From 2007 until 2011, he worked at the Laser Zentrum Hannover (Germany) first as a Humboldt Research Fellow and then as a Research Fellow. Since October 2011 he has been working at the Data Storage Institute (A*STAR, Singapore).He is currently Senior Scientist, Leader of Nanophotonics Program and Head of Advanced Concept and Nanotechnology Division. Current activities of his group are mainly devoted to the development of novel nanodevices based on dielectric nanoantennas and metasurfaces.He is the author of over 40 journal papers (including Science, Nature Comm., Adv. Mater., Nano Lett., ACS Nano, ACS Photon., Laser&Photon. Rev. etc.) and a co-inventor of nine filed patent applications.
