About the session

Session 8B - Protection Applications

Session Chair: John Wright, Europe and Africa Technical Application Engineering Leader & Product Growth Leader, GE Grid Solutions

As the grid evolves with addition of inverter-based resources and integrated hybrid AC / DC grids protection is becoming increasingly complex. To ensure reliability and coordination between different protection systems, real-time simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing are essential. This presentation reviews current challenges and provides an overview of the state-of-the-art in real-time simulation-based testing of protection that will be deployed in power grids.
