Climate change and its consequences

Dr Kevin Anderson, Tyndall Centre for Climate Change

According to the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution avoiding dangerous anthropogenic climate change will require the atmospheric concentration of CO2 to not exceed 550ppmv. For the UK this translates into a reduction in carbon emissions, compared with 1990, of between 60% and 80% by 2050.
