This presentation covers from the minimisation of working at height on the Olympic Stadium to the implementation of PV's and micro wind turbines in the public realm. With renewable powering methodologies close to the centre of the lighting programmes, briefings will be received on the lighting design (including mini wind turbines and photo voltaics implementation, lux levels, lamp types, energy consumption and generation, impact on wildlife) and lighting towers by prefabrication at ground level and lifting in place to avoid working at height.

Ian Guest is the Buro Happold Group Director for utilities, energy, and sustainability on London 2012. he was part of the team that developed the bid for the Games in 2004/2005. Ian returned to the Olympic project in October 2006 after the completion of the Redevelopment of Ascot Racecourse and has since led the Buro Happold Olympic team developing the masterplan and designs for utilities, energy and sustainability, including carbon reduction and renewable energy solutions.
