Product Safety and Liability: Staying on the right side of the Law

Product safety affects all products and systems. Even software must be “safe”. In some circumstances, specific additional rules apply such as the CE Marking legislation for machine safety or electromagnetic compatibility. However, all products are caught by general legislation from the European Product Liability Directive to the United Kingdom’s new rules on Corporate Manslaughter.
