About the presentation

In the 90ties well recognised institutes such as University Delft, engineering bureau town of Rotterdam, consultancy firm Twijnstra Gudde a.o. developed a standard method for risk assessment and risk management of hardware projects (infra, construction). This method, called Risman, is now the standard in this area in the Netherlands. However there was no software that - user friendly - supports working with this method. After a development period of over 4 years, including intense testing (over 60 workshops) our bureau has developed and launched an innovative program that supports Risman, called RisLog. It contains numerous features that enables project managers and project controller to assess, monitor and value risks. RisLog is now running with 10 of our major clients who are critically looking for further improvements, version 1.0 has been launched March 2011 and delivers happy users. For us as consultancy firm and researchers the data that are captured by RisLog from various clients and their projects allow us to benchmark and at a meta level monitor project risk
The Terry Bishop Award recognises innovation within the Project Control discipline. It looks for new approaches that have yielded success, ultimately adding value to the project.
The Terry Bishop Award has been launched in 2011 to commemorate the contribution Terry Bishop made to the Project Controls profession. Terry, a former President of ACostE instigated the collaborative partnership between the Association of Cost Engineers and The IET.
