About the presentation
• Hypothesis – Sensor tasking will provide improved situational awareness, through improved tactical picture, and improve decision making. • Current sensors have little scope for tasking – Mostly restricted to cueing of high resolution or tracking sensors. • Next generation sensors will have more scope: – Waveforms (in active sensors) – Signal and data processing – Threshold settings – Cueing • This work addresses – How current sensors are tasked on board a ship. – How next generation sensors could be tasked. – Sensor tasking as part of the combat management system.
