We’re living in difficult times. Jobs are scarce; money even scarcer. Despite the economic crisis, the average Joe is still watching TV. And if he’s not watching TV he’s surfing the Internet ... or on the phone. Joe would rather forego a couple of evenings in the pub, shop in a discount store and leave the car in the garage to walk instead, than have to cut back on his multimedia services. Good news for the cable industry, because unlike other industries the money’s still coming in. This is all the more reason why as an operator you want your network to perform reliably, effectively and efficiently. A disgruntled customer, who wanders off to the opposition because he’s frustrated with poor service quality, means a loss in revenue. Something you can probably well do without - and a lost customer is of course always difficult to win back.
