About the speaker
Robin McGill BSc(Hons) CEng FIMechE FIET. Robin graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a BSc, 1st Class Honours, Engineering Science in 1977 and has had a successful international business career, with BP and its joint ventures, which has seen him work in the UK and USA as well as exposing him to businesses and cultures across the globe. He is a Chartered Engineer and has served as a council member with the Scottish CBI as well as being a representative on various trade bodies. He is married with two grown up children. Chris joined ECUK in 2002, initially working on international recognition before becoming Registrar in 2004 and more recently Director of Registration and Finance. Chris’s international work included being Secretary to the Engineers Mobility Forum and Engineering Technologists Mobility Forum between 2003 and 2007. He is responsible for managing the ECUK Register of CEng, IEng and EngTechs. Michelle Richmond joined IET in 2006 following a career in industry, starting as an apprentice, becoming an IEng and then CEng through the technical route. She is a former Young Woman Engineer of the Year and was an active member of the IIE, chairing the Council and Accreditation Committee.
